We are committed to supporting seniors and families by offering a welcoming and inclusive living environment. Our community fosters independence, dignity, and a strong sense of belonging. With decades of experience, we continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

St. Matthew’s Bracondale House is a privately-owned, non-profit apartment building for individuals 65 and older. Our building contains 130 one-bedroom and bachelor apartments, and residents have access to our dining room, library, lounges, recreational rooms, and courtyard.

Residents and community members are also able to attend communal meals,  join yoga and fitness classes, attend parties, and participate in other recreational activities.

In addition, our organization also manages an 18-unit building for families, which we offer through the City of Toronto’s Housing Connections program.

Welcome & Opening Remarks

The Senior Adult Services (SAS) in the Annex. SAS Active Living Centre at St. Matthew’s Bracondale House, is dedicated to empowering seniors aged 55+ in Toronto. Through comprehensive programming, it aims to support healthy, independent living, reduce social isolation, and encourage continued engagement in a supportive community setting. Housing:

Q: How much will renting an apartment cost me?

A:  A Bachelor Apartment is $918.00 monthly. A one bedroom apartment is $1,204.00 monthly.

A: It takes 2-4 years for your to get a room in Bracondale at market rent. It takes ten years to get a room in subsidized housing.

A: You would apply for RGI through Housing Connections. The waiting list for RGI is around 10 years.

A: We follow the City of Toronto Guidelines based on the Ontario Consumer Price Index (CPI). In 2020, the increase was 2.2%.

Programs and Meals:

A membership fee of $25 is required. Our membership is open to all person’s 55+. This annual membership fee entitles the member to participate in any of our non-instructional activities and services including Bingo, Board Games, Movies, and Madison Pub Days as well as discounts on day trips and events. We offer three 13-week program sessions per calendar year. Program fees apply to all activities for which we hire an instructor, including fitness and organized recreation classes.

Yes. All of our program spaces are accessible. We are committed to diversity and social inclusion, and to providing environments that are accessible for everyone. Reducing barriers to participation is extremely important to us, and we encourage you to contact us with any questions you may have.

Travelling by car: We have limited on-site parking. Travel South on Christie St. from St. Clair Ave. W. Turn right on Ellsworth Ave. Turn right on the concrete driveway. Buzz the gate. Enter the parking lot. Buzz the rear door. A staff member will buzz you in. Upon entering the building, speak with a staff member at the main office.
